Dr.-Ing. Hans Joachim Rathsburg (born on 6.7.1888 in Chemnitz – died on 3.6.1975).
Dr. Rathsburg moved from Elbing to Nürnberg in 1917 and later to Fürth and until 1945, held the position of a head of laboratory in the Stadeln Works of the Dynamit Nobel AG. His special fields of activity were metals and detonators and consequently in 1921, among other things he proposed the use of tetrazene as sensibilization agent in the SINOXID primer compositions. Following his retirement in 1945, Dr. Rathsburg was still active as an author and also collaborated on the preparation of the pertinent regulations for the prevention of accidents. In particular, he investigated the accident-prone problematic of the electrostatic charge of (detonator-)explosives, which played an important role, especially when handling the easily ignited lead tricinate. |
